FOUNDING PROGRAMME · HONG KONG

Their ideas.
Made real.

For the child who’s always imagining something.

A small invention studio for curious children aged 6–8. Draw a creature. Give it a voice. Make a world friends can change.

Programme in development. Dates, venue and fees to be confirmed.

An imagined Leelaa studio: children and two educators test a physical button beside handmade inventions, Paloo, Wompy and Babaru, with a child-drawn world projected behind them.

THE PLANNED FOUNDING FORMAT

6 children

A close circle of makers.

2 educators

Time to hear each idea.

12 weekly visits

Room to return and go deeper.

90 minutes

To make, test and change.

ONE SMALL IDEA. SIX WAYS TO BUILD.

A drawing is
only the beginning.

A creature that wakes at the press of a button. Follow one possible project through the resources children will meet—and the decisions that make it theirs.

DRAWING + EDUCATOR-GUIDED AI EXPLORATION

First, an idea only
they could have.

A drawing opens the adventure. Children explore possibilities, compare them and keep the details that feel like their idea.

Their decision
The creature’s shape, colours, personality and the details to keep.
Our help
An educator helps compare possibilities. Adults operate AI tools under the child’s creative direction.

01 / 06 · Imagine

An illustrative project, not a fixed assignment. Children’s ideas take their own paths.

REMARKABLE RESOURCES. A VERY HUMAN STUDIO.

They bring the idea.
We make room for it.

01

A wider creative vocabulary.

Drawing, sound, code, sensors and physical making become things they can try—not just things they’ve heard about.

02

Attention to their thinking.

Educators prepare technical connections, teach useful techniques and help children find their own next move.

03

Ideas meet other people.

A friend tries a first version, asks a question or notices something unexpected. The child decides what to change.

THE PLANNED 12-VISIT JOURNEY

Six to discover.
Six to make it yours.

Open up the possibilities quickly. Give their favourite ideas the time and care to grow.

01—06

BREADTH · DISCOVER

Try a new creative power.
Make a small experiment.

The first six visits build a repertoire of ways to create. Children make, test and share from the beginning.

  • Drawing & AI images
  • Voice, sound & music
  • Visual & AI-assisted code
  • Buttons, sensors & microcontrollers
  • 3D design & physical making
  • Testing with others

07—12

DEPTH · DEVELOP

Choose an idea.
Find out how far it can go.

Children combine the resources that serve their project, try successive versions with others and decide what comes next.

  • A creature with a voice and a surprising rule.
  • A game friends can actually play.
  • A physical invention that changes a projected world.

Possible directions. The child’s idea leads.

REAL MAKING. PLENTY OF LAUGHTER.

A visit with room
for surprises.

Make a wonderfully odd creature. Try a new control. See what happens when someone else gets hold of the invention.

An illustrative 90-minute rhythm. Educators adapt the flow to the project and group.

  1. 10MIN

    Something to wonder about.

A playful prompt, an unexpected question, a possibility worth trying.

  2. 20MIN

    A new way to create.

Meet a tool or technique through a small experiment.

  3. 45MIN

    Make. Test. Try again.

Choose a direction, build a version and see what it does.

  4. 15MIN

Let the idea meet a friend.

Share it, notice a reaction and carry a new question forward.

TWO ROOMS. ONE FLOW OF IDEAS.

At the bench, they make it.
At the wall, it comes alive.

A drawing, a sound, a physical button or a sensor can become part of the same invention. Children move between making something and trying it in a shared world.

THE MAKING ROOM

Drawings, controls, prototypes and the next version.

THE WORLD ROOM

A shared projection to change, test and play through together.

Physical controls connect their experiments to the projection. The tools serve the idea.

12 × 8FOOT PROJECTION WALL

A canvas for worlds
the children help create.

Part of the planned two-room studio.

CARE YOU CAN SEE

You see the idea.
And how it grew.

Two educators with six children means time to listen, teach and notice the thinking behind the work.

Project notes capture what your child chose, tried, noticed and changed. The support they received stays visible, alongside a thoughtful next challenge.

PALOO. WOMPY. BABARU.

Wonder has
good company.

Familiar friends from Leelaa help frame the adventure. Human educators lead the studio.

Paloo, Wompy and Babaru, the three Leelaa companions.

PALOO

Shall we try it?

Make a first version. Find out what it does.

WOMPY

Why does that happen?

Ask a question. Notice something worth exploring.

BABARU

What if we change the rule?

A playful challenge. Another way to try.

No Leelaa toy at home is needed to take part.

THOUGHTFUL PARENTS ASK GOOD QUESTIONS.

A few things
to know.

Who is the founding programme for?

Curious children aged 6–8. No prior coding experience is expected. Techniques are introduced as they become useful to a child’s idea.

What is the planned format?

Twelve weekly visits of 90 minutes, with six children and two educators per group. The first six broaden their creative repertoire; the next six give chosen projects more depth. Making and testing happen throughout.

How is this different from the game or toys at home?

The Academy brings together a continuing peer group, shared making resources, close educator attention and feedback on inventions children create. A friend can try a prototype; an educator can help them turn the reaction into another experiment.

How much of it happens on a screen?

The planned sessions move between drawing, making, talking, physical experiments and shared projection. Digital tools serve the projects. Adults operate AI tools under children’s creative direction and supervise fabrication.

Do we need a toy, a child account or homework?

No home Leelaa toy or child account is required. No mandatory homework is planned. The studio is designed to hold the making journey from one visit to the next.

When, where and how much?

Dates, venue, fees and availability remain to be confirmed. Contact us to discuss your child’s interests and enquire about the founding programme.
